Hinds has been a part of the 9-1-1 cast since the show’s inception in 2018 and for the past four years, audiences have watched her character Hen try to balance her time between work as a firefighter and paramedic, her marriage to Karen (played by Tracie Thomas), motherhood and studying to become a doctor.

In Season 6, the pressure on Hen has never been higher, with her final medical school exams just around the corner.

Now that Hen has taken the leap to officially become a doctor, 9-1-1 fans have been worried her character may be moving on to bigger things, leaving her team behind.

Newsweek has everything you need to know about Hinds and her character Hen’s future on 9-1-1.

Is Hen Star Aisha Hinds Leaving 9-1-1?

There is good news for fans of Hen in 9-1-1: there is no definite sign actress Aisha Hinds will be leaving the FOX series anytime soon.

In recent weeks, things have not been so easy for her character Hen. She took on the acting captain position while Bobby (Peter Krause) was away, just days before her finals.

As a result, she failed one of her exams, leaving her future up in the air but thankfully, she was given a second chance.

Hinds’s character, Hen is now officially a doctor, after passing all of her exams in Season 6, Episode 5 and now, audiences will know her as Dr. Hen Wilson.

The bad news is, now that Hen is a doctor, it is more than likely she will be off working in the hospital rather than with the 118.

But fans should not worry, her impending departure from the 118 does not necessarily mean it will be the last we will see of her.

After Episode 5 aired, Hinds took to Twitter to share a clip of Episode 5 where her 118 family celebrated Hen’s qualification as a doctor.

Alongside the video, Hinds wrote: “To Hen..” What a journey!!! #911onFOX" sparking fears Hen’s time was coming to an end.

However, going forward in Season 6, there are numerous ways Hinds could remain a key figure of the show’s cast. For example, some storylines could focus on the hospital where Hen would work, and audiences could get to see Hen treating patients that 118 have brought in.

On the other hand, Hen may decide not to leave the 118 after all. Just because she is a qualified surgeon does not mean has to leave her career as a paramedic behind.

If the teaser trailer for Season 6, Episode 6 of 9-1-1 (titled “Tomorrow” set to air on Monday, October 24) is anything to go by, it appears Hinds character Hen has a big storyline ahead of her, so she will not be going anywhere anytime soon.

The clip reveals what is set to be a heart-wrenching episode with Hen’s wife Karen’s life is in jeopardy after an explosion hits a science lab, on the same day Karen took their young son Denny to work.

Fans have been sharing their thoughts online about what is next to Hen and many want to see Hen pursue her career as a doctor, whereas others do not want her to leave the 118.

One fan tweeted: “Hen leaving the 118 would open up 9-1-1 to new storylines and possibilities set around doctors and hospitals, and although I hate when the firearm isn’t complete I think it would be good for the show to expand their horizons. like we could get so many things with hen #911onFOX.”

Another fan wrote: “As much as I’m interested in her pursuing her dream career and want her to be a doctor, but 118 is not gonna be the same without Hen. I’ve tears in my eyes a bit.”

A third fan added: “it’s been a journey indeed, that hasn’t ended… because hen won’t leave… right?!?!? hen is not leaving… right?!?!?”

9-1-1 Season 6 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on FOX and is available to stream on Hulu every Tuesday.
